Scheduled sale of bankruptcy estate items

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Today we got a notification the trustee has scheduled the sale of our items surrendered in our bankruptcy. It is tentatively scheduled for March 23, but she may put it off until april 6 for some reason. I’ll be curious to see what happens. One thing I did find out is that it is a all or nothing sale. In otherwords different people won’t bid per item, one person has to buy everything.

The cars we surrendered will be sold individually and seperate from everything else.

Last day for claims against the chapter 7 bankruptcy estate

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Yesterday was the last day for anyone to file a claim against the bankruptcy estate. I did see several of my creditors waited until the very last day. Not exactly why they would wait, as we were already discharged the end of January. One more thing out of the way.

Surrendered cars today as part of chapter 7 bankruptcy

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Today was the day we had to turn in our cars. Kinda sucked… as one was paid for, and the other only owed $300 on. But as you have read from our earlier posts the Trustee stated they were worth way more than they actually were. So instead of paying for an appraisal to fight it, and since the cars were starting to have mechanical problems we let them go.

Borrowed a car in preparation to surrender ours to Trustee

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

I flew one way back to the midwest and borrowed a car from the in-laws. We are required to surrender our cars to the Trustee by this Saturday. Wasn’t too bad of a 23 hour drive! Luckily weather was great. No snow or rain! But it will suck… as we have been a two car household forever. Now only one car for both of us.

Agreed on Chapter 7 Stipulation agreement

After my lawyer contacted the trustee regarding the never before talked about 2007 return. Luckily, the trustee stated that was a mistake, we only need to give the 2008 refund (If Any!)

Somehow, the trustee still states my wife is $100 over her exemptions, and wants us to pay for them. OK, OK! We’ll pay the $100 for jeans and T-Shirts… let’s get on with it please!
